National Initiatives

Tourism and Leisure Solutions have been privileged to work on a wide range of major national tourism initiatives, including:

Ancestral Tourism Initiative

Gillian project managed this major national initiative for four years, working with national agencies, local authorities and local community groups to encourage tourism businesses to maximise the opportunities presented by one of Scotland's fastest growing niche markets.

Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions

Gillian has provided on-going PR support to ASVA for the last 9 years, researching and writing its monthly members' newsletter, handling media relations and promoting association events including its annual conference.

Event Ready Producers

Both Douglas and Gillian were members of the consultancy team helping to deliver this Scottish Enterprise managed initiative to support food and drink producers entering the events sector.

TALS were commissioned by EventScotland to run a stakeholder workshop to discuss and evaluate the outcomes and impacts of the Year of Natural Scotland in 2013. We subsequently presented a report on the workshop to the Year of Natural Scotland Steering Group.

Experiencing Scotland

Douglas and Gillian worked on this national initiative to encourage tourism operators to source and promote local food and drink. Douglas led on industry engagement activities, including delivery of workshops, while Gillian was responsible for industry communications.

Scottish Licensed Trade Association

TALS worked with The Glamis Consultancy to develop a business plan for the Scottish Licensed Trade Association, which represents all sectors of the Scottish Licensed Trade Industry.

Tourism Intelligence Scotland (TIS)

Douglas and Gillian were both original members of the multi-agency team appointed to deliver this major initiative to encourage tourism businesses to make more effective use of market intelligence.
