NATIONAL ANCESTRAL TOURISM INITIATIVE For the past four years, we have project managed this major
national initiative addressing and developing a new niche tourism market. This has involved liaison and communication with
tourism organisations, community groups and individual businesses throughout Scotland, as well as liaison with local authorities
and other public sector bodies.
ROYAL DEESIDE AND THE CAIRNGORMS DESTINATION MANAGEMENT ORGANISATION In partnership with our colleagues
at The Glamis Consultancy, we project managed the establishment of a new Destination Management Organisation, which included:
preparation and initial implementation of a three-year Business Plan; preparation and management of funding applications;
liaison with local businesses, community groups and public agencies; and provision of admin and other support to a Board of
Directors.
CITTASLOW PERTH In 2006 - 07, we project managed Perth's successful bid to secure accreditation
as Scotland's first Cittaslow town. Since then, we have continued to provide co-ordination and communications support
to the Cittaslow Perth Steering Group, project managed Linlithgow's successful bid to be accredited as Scotland's
second Cittaslow town, and provided communications and admin support to the Board of Cittaslow UK.
NATIONAL CARAVAN COUNCIL We developed and delivered a major national marketing campaign for
over 30 Scottish members of the National Caravan Council to promote Scotland as a destination for caravan holidays to the
UK market. We prepared and managed funding applications to support the campaign, which incorporated advertising, consumer
exhibitions, direct mail, print production and distribution, public relations and web design and development.
SCONE PALACE We have provided media and public relations and communications support to one of
Scotland's most visited historic houses for over five years, with particular emphasis on promoting events and
developing niche markets such as business tourism and weddings.
ASSOCIATION OF SCOTTISH VISITOR ATTRACTIONS (ASVA) We help one of Scotland's
largest tourism industry bodies to produce regular e-newsletters for members and stakeholders. Our work includes gathering
and editing information and case studies, and copywriting content.
WEST LOTHIAN COUNCIL Working in partnership with The Glamis Consultancy, we undertook an audit
of tourism support arrangements in West Lothian and prepared a series of costed recommendations to enhance the local authority's
support for the tourism sector.
TOURISM INNOVATION GROUP In early 2009, we produced a Guide to Using Scottish Food & Drink
at Events for the Tourism Innovation Group and its partners from Scottish Enterprise, Scotland Food & Drink, the Scottish
Government Tourism Unit and VisitScotland. We sourced information and case studies, wrote all copy, and liased with colleagues
at Helen Gibson Design on the layout and design of the guide, which is available in pdf format.
HIGHLAND FLING We undertook an economic evaluation study for two private sector operators
considering establishing Scotland's first permanent dedicated bungee jumping centre.
